La Roucoulade

THE STORY: Located high up in the picture-perfect village of Ventabren on the outskirts of Aix-en-Provence, this Provençal farmhouse named La Roucoulade will have you whispering sweet nothings to anyone willing to listen. Behind its big stone walls, there’s a gîte that sleeps four to five guests (two bedrooms and a bathroom, terracotta floors, exposed wooden rafters, a 360° fireplace, a vine-covered pergola) and a big main house that can accommodate up to 15 guests at a time (six bedrooms and bathrooms, tomette tile and travertine floors, a garden, a pool, views of the mill) waiting for you to live out a beautiful love story. What else is there to brag about? Everything is dreamt up so that you don’t need to do anything: the organic grocery shopping is done and the pantry is stocked before guests even arrive, there’s a customized questionnaire so you can have the best possible stay, your choice of quality bedding is provided (linen, or percale, muslin or satin cotton) and several experiences are also available in house – massages, Pilates classes, swim lessons, wine tastings, flower arrangement classes… and even a magician for the kiddos! In short, a spot that doesn’t treat you like just another paying customer… Gîte starting at €160 a night, the entire estate (gîte and main house) starting at €700 a night.

TOILETRIES: What Matters soap, shampoo and body wash, all of which is organic.
BREAKFAST: Breakfast isn’t provided, but you can reserve a full brunch (sweet or savory), lovingly prepared by the private chef, which you can savor seated around the big table under the shade of the plane trees. Otherwise, there’s a fully equipped kitchen in each of the accommodations.
