THE STORY: Fabulous news for nostalgia lovers – we’ve found a hotel that turns back time! After going through several transformations since its grand opening in 1920, Le Grand Hôtel Cayré is now paying homage to its illustrious past. The Art Deco building has been restored to its former glory, immersing guests in true Roaring Twenties vibes, from the stained wood furniture and embroidered fabrics to the imposing mirrors and fringed lampshades, all thoughtfully designed by British architect Michaelis Boyd. Upstairs, more than a hundred bedrooms of various sizes boast vintage posters, framed sheet music and eclectic antique finds, all nodding to the hotel’s artistic and literary history during les Années Folles. The hotel’s quintessentially French restaurant Annette, led by Ducas-trained chef Bruno Brangea, strikes a similar tone. As for those who’d rather skip supper, Officine Bac is a cozy, speakeasy-inspired bar where you can easily picture Cocteau and Picasso deep in conversation… Let the good (old) times roll! Double rooms starting at €350 a night.
TOILETRIES: Le Labo hand soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion.
BREAKFAST: Available as a set menu (€18-28) or à la carte, with lots of mouthwatering options – juices, teas, coffees, viennoiseries, smoked salmon plate, eggs any way you like, seasonal granola, French toast with Madagascar vanilla and maple syrup…
LITTLE LUXURY: Settle into one of the hotel’s two stunning suites, with uninterrupted views of the Eiffel Tower for a picture-perfect stay!
