After appearing in several spaghetti westerns (My Name Is Nobody, They Call Me Trinity, etc.), the actor Terence Hill (his real name is Mario Girotti) has hung up his pistols and opened a gelateria called Girotti, an homage to his ice cream maker uncle’s shop in Amelia, Umbria. Want a closer look? Nestled into artisanal cones are his incredibly delicious ice creams made without gluten or preservatives, featuring creamy textures and irreproachably sourced ingredients: pistachios from Bronte, almonds from Avola, hazelnuts from Piedmont, seasonal fruit for the sorbets… Plus a few impressive original creations, like the “Altrimenti ci arrabbiamo” (the name of one of his films) featuring chocolate and Calabrian chili sorbet, which you can savor on the terrace with an espresso or a café frappé. Also noticed on the menu: focaccia, pasta and Italian pastries. In short, the best the (cowboy) Boot has to offer, in the middle of Paris! // Madeleine Proust
THE HIDDEN GEM: The two-scoop combo of your choosing, like activated charcoal stracciatella and matcha, that’ll make you lose your head (€5.50 to go, €7 in house).
