Quiet on set… we’re shaking! Let’s shine a spotlight on this American-style bar, which was recently taken over by seven famous friends (Benjamin Biolay, Chiara Mastroianni, Melvil Poupaud, etc.), who’ve cleared the haze from this 1960s institution, freshly acquired from the founders’ grandson. Inside, you’ll find pure Lynchian vibes: retro wallpaper and a timeworn, glossy bar where the ghosts of literary giants (Sartre, Beauvoir, Duras…) mingle with Montparnasse cocktail aficionados and would-be film extras. Served à la carte, there’s a wide selection of masterfully executed classics (Dry Martini with a twist or an olive, €176, Old Fashioned made with Maker’s Mark bourbon, unrefined cane sugar and a maraschino cherry, €18), along with signature creations, like the Citizen Kane (a mix of Champagne, gin, crème de rose and lemon juice, €17), and mocktails on request… plus a few natural wines for those looking for a little drama, including Les Gruches, a skin-contact chenin by Calvez Bobinet (€68 a bottle). To stay afloat in this sea of libations, there’s taramasalata, Bellota ham, veggie tempura, croque monsieurs and even chili con carne (€8-24). // Angela Dolu
