Cyrill Lignac’s latest spot has arrived! Designed by Studio KO, his Bar des Prés is a lovely cross between an American diner (a row of small booths, a long bar) and a clandestine old Tokyo establishment with yellow marble, wicker suspension lamps and golden lights…. And don’t worry if the peacock-patterned benches are filled with skinny girls from Saint-Germain-des-Prés! Just grab a seat at the bar, where you can watch the bartender and the sushi chef hard at work. To drink, there’s a beautiful cocktail list with Japanese touches, including a formidable Red Lips (Biala vodka, cherry tomatoes, wasabi, lemon juice, cranberry juice, pink peppercorns, €12) marrying sweet and spicy flavors, or a very fresh Duo des Prés for two (Absolut Elyx vodka, homemade cardamom syrup, coconut water, basil, pineapple juice, spicy Sailor Jerry rum, €25). And for all those allergic to alcohol, there’s a Vanilla Sky (passion fruit and mango juice, homemade vanilla syrup, almond milk, €10) and a royal sushi menu, which you can read about here. // A.B.
