Camped out in the construction site of the Hôtel Normandy (which is currently being renovated) and scheduled to stay there until the end of renovations in 2022, Rehab has more fashionable tics than a Soviet gymnast on steroids! A cross between an opium den and a 1920s boudoir (vintage rugs, a lacquered bed, second-hand mirrors, pendant chandeliers), the menu of this speakeasy checks off all the boxes for nouvelle mixology with just ten cocktails infused with a CBD or cannabidiol twist, the molecule (legally!) extracted from cannabis whose relaxing effects are very light. Concocted by the bartender Ben Tyler (ex-Mezcaleria) and tested by us: a very Manhattanite Neapple Junky made with pineapple-infused vermouth, rye, Angostura bitters and CBD (€16), along with a Drink of Choice combining mezcal, red wine, ginger ale and CBD (€14). Not to mention the three “spirit free” options, like the Smart Recovery with green apple kombucha, falernum and CBD (€14). // A.B.
