THE STORY? The downstairs boutique is a purveyor of dreams, while upstairs there’s a dream pied-à-terre. Alexandre Chapellier, founder of Cinabre, the iconic luxury accessories brand, has opened two stylish sanctuaries for the modern-day dandy, above his elegant boutique in the Cité Bergère passageway. The highest manifestation of a chic-and-in-no-way-cheap art of living, these grandly styled suites, each measuring 100 m² and designed by Charlotte Albert and Alexis Lamesta (Necchi Architecture studio), feature immaculate interiors dressed to the nines, and with Pierre Frey fabrics to boot. In the first, with its icy brown tones, a sweet scent of the seventies lingers, from the rosewood living room furntiure to the veranda, right down to the bathroom with a clever trompe-l’oeil effect. In the second suite, it’s all about bold contrasts: think stunning floral wallpaper surrounding a monumental wavy sofa, a plush velvet lounge, and an English-style wooden bathroom. And in both, the incredibly comfortable (and entirely handmade) Swedish Hästens beds deliver the kind of deep, luxurious sleep that will have you dreaming of all the delightful trinkets you’ll be sure to buy the next day on the ground floor. Suites from €850 per night. // Amerigo Clafoutchi
