Paddo? That’s the nickname for Paddington, a lively Sydney neighborhood, of which Camille Jahan and Louis Simoneau (both of whom are fresh out of law school) imported the general vibe to Lille’s old town. Whether you’re seated on the sunny terrace in the morning or in the brick-heavy dining room, captivated by the ballet of the baristas behind the Marzocco espresso machine, this place is sure to charm you. But don’t take our word for it, you can judge for yourselves: a breakfast menu that’s served all day, featuring avocado toast, scrambled eggs, halloumi, hummus, bacon; mouthwatering buns for every mood (pulled pork or halloumi, etc.); and for anyone in need of fuel, there’s a raw veggie salad (red cabbage, broccoli, celery, cranberries, almonds, mint, egg and feta!). There are sweets as well: granola with Greek yogurt, honey and seasonal fruit, ricotta pancakes and delicious half-baked cookies. // S.S.
