The little brother of Café +82 in the 5th arrondissement, Paris Dabang is a coffee shop from the Land of the Morning Calm: behind a pale green storefront, you’ll find a cozy and artsy split-level space done up with wood, the ideal spot to work and indulge in some of the sweet treats displayed on the speckled bar. Cookies, of course, but ones made with black sesame seeds or ssuk, a variety of mugwort; madeleines, yes, but shaped like chestnuts and stuffed with chestnut cream; marble cake sure, but yuzu and green tea flavored… And an incredible bingsu, a mountain of black tea flavored shaved ice copiously sprinkled with injeolmi cookies (made with rice flour), or a scoop of vanilla and honeycomb ice cream topped with your choice of sweetened condensed milk and red beans, mango or green tea. // Jean Pascal
FEELING THIRSTY? Teas (green tea with pine needles or plum…) and coffee (ssuk lattes), which can be made hot or cold (€2-6).
PRICE: Cakes €3.50 to €4.50, bingsu €10.
