Far from being a questionable dive despite its cheap looking furniture (not to mention its collection of Dalai Lama images and Buddhas on the walls), Bar à Momos serves quite simply the best momos in all of Paris. We’re talking about those homemade Tibetan buns that are made with chewy dough and stuffed with pork and chives, beef and onions, spinach with cabbage and cheese or even potatoes with onions and ginger, all served either pan-fried, steamed or boiled with spicy soy sauce for dipping. The beautiful selection of soups that could fill up a sherpa are also worth exploring, available in miniature versions (like the tsamtang with toasted barley flour and minced meat) and maximum versions with plenty of spice (thukpa with homemade noodles), along with the “shapaley,” aka XXL fried momos. And for a sweet treat once your reach the summit of your meal, this tiny restaurant serves barley wheat shortbread cookies or sho dui, a type of rice pudding sweetened by yack milk yogurt. This momostary is definitely worth visiting! // Daphné Miller
