The American sandwich has arrived in the Pink City and it’s a smash hit! A plump bun with plenty of ketchup and mustard, carefully smashed patties, melted cheese, loads of pickles and onions, all stuffed into a flashy basket and served on metal tables or the zinc-topped bar… There’s really no need to tell you that Superette isn’t a neighborhood épicerie like the name might imply, but rather a quality burger joint run by Vincent Louw (ex-La Crique in Biarritz and La Pente Douce in Toulouse), who is surfing on the bustling atmosphere of the Saint-Cyprien neighborhood – think neo-Brooklyn vibes on Toulouse’s Left Bank. On the menu created by Jeff Claudio (ex-Burnt Ends in Singapore and Yardbird in Hong Kong): an incredible double smash cheeseburger; a spicy version with a plumper patty, crisp lettuce and fresh tomato; and every Friday, there’s FFC (Friday Fried Chicken) served with golden fries – the perfect way to kick off the weekend! // Auguste Marie
