Behind this rather unexpected name is the Ethiopian legend of the farmer who discovered the stimulating virtues of coffee beans after his animals inadvertently ingested them… Step inside and you’ll discover a vast and luminous haven to the glory of suspended time dreamt up by Daniel Chapman (ex-Café Craft) and brought to life by Cocorico Paris, which really went all out: varied tiling, mirrors, small marble-topped tables, Thonet chairs… The Dancing Goat also casts a spell over you with its cheeky gourmet treats: heavenly homemade granola with seasonal fruit over a thick bed of Greek yogurt; naughty chocolate-pecan cookies; pumpkin cake with a lovely frosting; moist, gluten-free chocolate-chestnut cake… And if you’re just passing through the neighborhood, there’s a streetside counter where you can get goodies to go. // Louise Delange
