High up in the Ménilmontant neighborhood, Virginie Ratel and Dominique Segall (both of whom used to work at Le 20ème Art and La Vierge) opened up a cozy little bistro. It’s an adorable spot with a cobblestoned terrace, vintage furnishings, a blue-hued bar and mismatched tableware for tantalizing cuisine. At lunch, you might enjoy celery rémoulade, green tomato gazpacho, herring with potato salad or beef carpaccio with sauce gribiche all made by Lisa Rufi (ex-La Vierge)… At night, Connor McGrath (ex-La Vierge, Chez Robert, etc.) serves small creations on big floral plates. For us, it was scallop tartare with rhubarb compote, topped with matchstick-style celery root fries and toasted hazelnuts; braised pork loin with charred zucchini and mustard sauce; followed by a lovely strawberry panna cotta to end the meal on a sweet note. // Anne Audîne
