Brother and sister duo Diëgo and Sheena De Pauw took over this corner bakery back in 2019, attracting customers from both Zurenborg and Goren Kwartier. Their recipes are extremely simple: various flours, levain, water and salt, au naturel. On the shelves, you’ll find everything necessary for making delicious tartines: country bread, Cerealis wholegrain loaves, tourte de meule, spelt wheat lingots, wholegrain Scandinavian bread, rye roggebrood boules, adorable seeded rye breads dazzling with seeds… and even focaccia (tomato-olive, rosemary, or brie-potato). For breakfast or tea time, there’s cinnamon babka, croissants stuffed with crème pâtissière or almonds, cheese and carrot cakes, cinnamon rolls, brownies, cannelés or apple pies topped with cream. // Alain Belon
The hidden gem: Let’s keep it simple, their croissant is a must (€2).
