Beneath oversized rattan light fittings and bowler hat-shaped lampshades, a crew in sailor shirts have been serving scoops by the shovelful to long lines of curious eaters since 2021. Ultimately, the queue isn’t a bad thing, as it gives you plenty of time to agonize over the week’s rotating specials, all lovingly crafted by Jimmy Patte. From his workshop, he whips up bold iced creations, switching up the ingredients with the seasons. The week we went, it was a toss-up between the apple pie flavor, Piedmontese hazelnut and Iranian pistachio… But we ultimately gave in to the house’s award-winning Kulfi flavor, an Indian ice cream with a mind-blowing mix of pistachio, roasted almond, rose water and cardamom. Pair it with a generous scoop of classic stracciatella. No regrets – because at Bouboule, part of the fun is in the choosing! // Aline Flamme
