Ahoy there! Already the owner of Le Petit Canon, Philippe Mayot has decided to dive back in by opening a cheerfully nautical bar just across the street, taking over the former Semsom Lebanese restaurant. Behind the large front window, he pours draft beers (Cristal or Bertinchamps Blanche, €4 and €5 for 330 ml) and French natural wines (White Rabbit from Domaine de Berguerolles, €6.50 a glass and €22 for a 500 ml carafe), while also slipping in a few personal favorites, like Bon Papa, a white from Ferme de Bois Moisset (€34). To pair with these liquid assets? Sea-kissed bites that roll in with the tide: cheeky tuna or sardine rillettes (€9.50 and €11), ultra-fresh whelks (€11), plump pink Madagascar prawns dunked in mayo (€13), juicy pan-fried bouchot mussels fired up with chorizo (€18) and, above all, legendary Coutainville oysters (€13 for six), of course! Slurp them up every day, and even more so during the oyster party held the first Tuesday of every month, when oysters go for €1 a pop.
