Another caffeinated spot for cool kids? Yes, but a particularly slick one this time around, designed by Studio Ebur (immaculate walls, exposed stone columns, a zinc-topped wooden bar, big floor-to-ceiling windows) that’s well-stocked by brothers Martin and Ernest Laurens who grew up in Savoie – the first used to work for SNCF, the second did a stint at The Broken Arm. In addition to some exciting classics (espresso, flat white, pour-over coffee, etc.), the duo pull some first-rate espresso (Fève), matcha (Le Parti du Thé), chai and hojicha lattes. And don’t miss the house specialty: latte made with mountain honey from their home region – incredible! If you aren’t afraid of a little butter, there are a few generous, gluten-rich snacks, like the cookie of the moment (dark chocolate and fleur de sel the day we went), some perfectly made banana bread, tempting cinnamon rolls and majestic honey-infused madeleines. // Anna Elisabeth
THE HIDDEN GEM: The aforementioned mountain honey latte (€5.50).
