Ojjjo, with three Js? That’s what Maxime-Sossah-Tado (ex-Tidbits in London) must have sounded like as a child while trying to pronounce his grandfather Kojjo’s name – before adopting it as the name of this charming little coffee shop in the 20th arrondissement. It truly has it all: exposed wooden beams, large windows, a textured wooden counter and thoughtfully arranged flowers… An overall warm and inviting space, designed in collaboration with the architect Tane-Hugo Datte, where time seems to slow down and coffee flows freely. Here, beans roasted by Fève, Mojo Coffee Club or Kawa are expertly prepared as pour-over coffee, flat whites or cortados, unless you’d prefer a cascara infusion, a brew made from dried coffee cherry pulp. Already wide awake? There’s also hot chocolate, matcha, iced tea and ginger shots to keep you going, along with a selection of homemade vegan baked goods (chocolate cookies, banana bread with caramel coulis, etc.). // Anna Elisabeth
THE HIDDEN GEM: The aforementioned banana bread (€4.50), a true flavor bomb!
