With a question mark at the end of its name, this butcher’s could just as well have gone for
an exclamation point to assert its well-earned presence in south Boulogne. Having worked here for 14 years before taking over the business in December 2024, Ricardo Da Silva and Laëtitia Lecureux now preside over a tempting meaty selection, from rare finds to more wallet-friendly cuts, all sourced from trusted producer friends near and afar. Fresh off the rotisserie spit out front, juicy roast chicken from Ferme du Luteau or knuckle of ham from Salaisons Mauriac beckon from the counter; while under the glow of the neon lights shine Noir de Bigorre chorizo, Simmental rib-eye steak and green peppercorn terrine. The display case also delivers on the ready-made front: a hefty wodge of truffle potato gratin, Richelieu pâté en croûte, chicken in mustard sauce and even saltufo – truffle salami balls coated in Parmigiano-Reggiano. Meat dreams are made of these! · Hercule Poiré
THE HIDDEN GEM: The Argentinian Angus rib-eye steak (€62.90 per kg), which regulars seem unable to reisist slipping into their baskets!
