It didn’t take long for Paris’ 10th arrondissement to turn sour(dough) on one of its favorite bakeries – and above all, to loaf its endless line. Spurred on, Cécile Khayat and Victoria Effantin redoubled their efforts to offer the neighborhood this supercharged deli! As you enter to flamingo pink tiles made by the Dutch Studio GdB, not only will you find beautiful and tasty tradition baguettes, which (also) made Mamiche’s reputation, but also a warm and friendly welcome. So, what’s on offer? Pizzas topped with anchovies on the spot, heaps of sausage rolls pimped with fennel seed, breakfast sandwiches bulging with cheddar / omelet / ketchup, decadent lava cake with fleur de sel served in a cone, as well as two types of salad sold by weight, like the tabbouleh with green beans, which was a little less convincing this time round. And on top of all that, lots of goodies to hoard at home, like English muffins or retro marble cake. // Nour Ghanem
THE HIDDEN GEM: The brilliant and hard-to-get-your-hands-on challah, delicious bread for Shabbat (€4 for two).
