Isn’t she lovely, Mamiche? Victoria Effantin and Cécile Khayat’s neighborhood bakery earned itself a makeover during the summer of 2021, and now boasts a brick and wood counter and a glistening oven, from which precious sourdough loaves, buttery croissants, plump orange blossom brioches, incredible cookies and stunning cream puffs emerge… Not to mention the sandwiches that have successfully won over locals, made on various types of bread (baguettes, focaccia, buns, white bread, black bread, etc.) with unfussy fillings: ham and Comté, mackerel rillettes, chicken salad, taramasalata and pickles… They’re even better when you order a formula menu, which includes something like a flavor-packed melted chocolate beignet for dessert. // Albert Gredinbar
