Looking for a place to grab roast chicken in the tourist-filled center of Nice? That was the smart idea spearheaded by Thomas Marciales Crespo, who built his nest just a stone’s throw from the harbor. Head to his shop where you’ll find some tasty farm-fresh chickens alongside pork ribs, which you can take to go with seasonal sides – pimientos de Padrón, locally grown haricots verts cooked with garlic, buttery corn on the cob, or potatoes with some perfect spicy mayo for dipping. Also available: pieces of plump fried chicken, served in a tray or in a sandwich (there’s even a satay version); and if you place an order 24 hours in advance, lamb shoulder, leg or saddle, suckling pork shoulder, roasted pork… // Lenny Vega
