Ona Rombaut was destined to work in wine one day, considering that her father had her doing blind tastings from a very early age! These days, along with her partner Arne Braeckman, she’s at the head of not one, but two wine bars in Ghent, Ona Belfort and this one. In an impressive abode on Belfortstraat, she organizes tastings and oenology courses. Glug-glug-glugged that day: Nosioli, a Dolomites white from the Salvetta family; Kulcsár, a dry, skin-contact Hungarian furmint from the Domaine Jakab; and Patchwork, an oxidative Jura Chardonnay from Stéphane and Bénédicte Tissot. On top of, there are snacks, frittatas and pizzettes… // Anita Kane
