THE STORY: Yalo boutique hotel set up shop in Ghent’s bustling city center. At this veritable urban jungle dreamt up by Joris Van Duffel and Laurence De Kerpel, with reinforcements from the King George creative agency, you can vibe day and night, grab a bite to eat at the restaurant run by chef Sam D’Huyvetter or at the always-packed mixologist bar under the immense glass ceiling, before climbing up to its stunning rooftop. To catch your breath afterwards, there are a little under a hundred chic and hip bedrooms of all sizes, from the very comfortable Little One to the gigantic, bright Penthouse Suite that’s extremely well-equipped (luxury bedding, light hardwood floors, walk-in showers, record players and vinyls), some of which come with their own private patios.
