THE STORY: Belgian designer Raymond Jacquemyns was commissioned by Vincent Verschooris to design Shelter 7 in the simple, yet innovative spirit of wabi-sabi, a Japanese spiritual and aesthetic concept celebrating the art of imperfection. Spread out over three floors, this 120m2 hideout is overflowing with zen-itude, culminating on the sunny rooftop terrace with views of the garden below! Much like an art gallery, almost everything within its walls is available for purchase, where a selection of antiques unearthed by Axel Vervoordt are in harmony with the iconic furniture, such as The Rock sofa by Gérard Van Den Berg, and arte povera paintings. Not only is this guest house an oasis of calm, but it can also transform into a meeting space for all your event needs – all that, just a seven-minute walk from the city center. Accommodation starting at €250 per night. // Jeanne Jaco
