NUMBER OF ROOMS: 8 cabins (2, 4 and 8 people), 4 Tuf platforms with big circular tents (4 people)

THE STORY: Back home after a few years traveling around, Mathilde, Lise, Julien and Sébastien wanted to make the most of their architect training in an exceptional natural setting, at the heart of the Auvergne department. Located 900 meters above sea level, on the ruins of a basalt quarry, they created Le Bois Basalte: an eco-responsible accommodation complex, with eight designer cabins (for two, four or eight guests), four Tuf platforms with circular tents (for four guests each), a relaxation space, a communal dining room, an observation station and a vegetable patch. Starting at €91 a night in the cabins (€471 a week), and €78 a night for the tents (€313 a week).
TOILETRIES: Bring your own.
INTERNET: Free (wifi), but only in the Concasseur, the multipurpose space with a view of the Chaîne des Puys.
BREAKFAST: €7,5 per person — a basket with hot drinks in thermoses, good bread, jam, croissants and apple juice is left outside your cabin every morning.
LITTLE LUXURY: Taking a steam bath in the sauna after an excellent hike.
