On a discreet little street in Clermont-Ferrand, a trio who loves the New York lifestyle – Clément Granet, Rémi Dumas and Erwan Cavanagh – opened up this tiny pizzeria in September of 2020 (skateboards, photos of Italian-American stars hung on the walls), centered around the big Morello oven. They sell the best Napolitano pizzas in the neighborhood with Snoop Dogg playing in the background, all topped with local ingredients – sauce made with hand-crushed tomatoes, Saint-Nectaire cheese, and ham from the nearby Gauthier butcher shop. We opted for a delicious Queens pizza covered in tomato sauce, fior di latte mozzarella, baked ham, mushrooms and fresh basil, while the excellent Satriale’s pizza combined the same base with fennel sausage, Roman pecorino and spring onions. And to round out the meal, a Sweet Bread Nocciolata, aka pizza dough drizzled in chocolate hazelnut spread. // Gwen Jacquère
