So Good (Clermont-Ferrand)

A luxury food shop in the land of the volcanos! If you disregard the absence of a produce aisle, the range of goods for sale at this modern, unassuming shop run by Amélie Voisin and Thierry Faure, who opened it in 2009, is frankly quite explosive: Mariage Frères teas, La Belle-Îloise canned goods, Clovis walnut mustard, La Guinelle vinegar, Alain Milliat fruit juices, Casale Paradiso black risotto rice… and independent wines (Blot, Mas Laval, Gripa…). A sort of “best of” of fine foods shops, whose selection can often be rather picturesque: olive oil from Estoublon sold in perfume bottles, bronze-cut pasta, nougat from Arts de Lopez. In other words, plenty to fill you up, while following Amélie’s advice, who is also an expert in the art of gift wrapping. // Adrien Nouviaire

Hidden gem: A line of Caviari caviar (€38).
