THE STORY: A far cry from the rustic, kitsch clichés of its kind, this old family chalet was converted into an XXLuxe Savoie cabin in 2019. What should you expect from the so-called “Great Escape?” 400 m2 of pure comfort, spread out over two floors, with a dormitory, five double bedrooms, classy woodworking, and almost as many bathrooms (equipped with walk-in showers or standing bathtubs!) As for all the food you brought back from the Station des Contamines resort, there’s a fully-equipped kitchen, and for all your relaxation needs, two ultra-cozy lounges with chic mountain decor – light wood paneling, waxed concrete and leather as far as the eye can see. The cherry on top of this Savoie cake: this tasteful gîte is located along a ski slope, which turns into an Alpine hiking path when the weather’s nice. Count on spending €850 a night for the entire chalet, which sleeps up to ten guests!
