THE STORY: Marseille has also its own Mama Shelter, cleverly situated in a neighborhood that isn’t overrun but is still close to everything. In this concrete and aluminum building constructed for the occasion, we rediscover the Stark and Trigano touch: fun design (ceilings decorated with chalk, giant foosball table and neo-canteen ambiance in the restaurant) and well thought-out little luxuries (the rooms each have their own iMac equipped with Airplay so you can watch free television and films). As a bonus, this time around, a Southern accent, with rooms filled with luminous colors, sardines on the curtains and the Mama Pastaga, a pastis bar on the terrace. Rooms starting at €69, suites starting at €199 (tariffs vary upon occupation).
TOILETRIES: Organic Mama Skin products in collaboration with Absolution.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: All-you-can-eat buffet €16, with crepes, viennoiseries, breads, brownies, cookies, scrambled or boiled eggs, bacon, cheese, ham, fresh squeezed fruit juice, hot drinks, cereals, fruit salads.
MINI-BAR: Soft drinks, beers, peanuts.
LITTLE LUXURY: This Mama Shelter has her own private beach (open in the summer only, ten minutes away from the hotel by car), for rosé on the flashy deck chairs facing the Grande Bleue.
