THE STORY: Regulars of ski lodges, say adieu to mountain kitsch. Milk Hotel was redone in 2010 as a contemporary chalet by the owners of the farm/ecolodge Graine et Ficelle (Alpes-Maritimes). The rooms are luminous and clean, dressed in shades of white and grey, with contemporary bathrooms and raw wooden headboards for all those feeling nostalgic for the classic oak paneling… And the location, in the middle of the pine forest at the foot of Carroz slopes, is impeccable! Your skis are barely off before you’re snoozing on the couches around the wood-burning stove, or treating yourself to an organic beer with a view of Mont-Blanc, on the south-facing terrace. Rooms from €124 to €210 per person for half-board, with dinner and breakfast that’s almost entirely organic.

TOILETRIES: Shampoo and organic shower gel.
INTERNET: Wifi (free).
BREAKFAST: Included with half-board, with homemade mini-croissants, organic cereals, organic breads, organic pâte, Graine et Ficelle jams, almond puree, almond milk, hazelnut milk, AlcaMatin cereal, agave syrup, dried fruits, local honey, hot drinks, fruit juices (orange, apple, pomegranate).
LITTLE LUXURY: The hotel delivers your skis upon arrival and returns them to the rental place after your departure.
