Let’s be frank, what are all these names about? Well, it’s Francine in the evening and Frank during the day! This shared spot boasts the same organicool values – only the concept changes! A mere toss of a coin from La Monnaie, in a large, slightly chilly room with a spot of color coming from the art deco glass roof, barista Marianne Renders (ex-OR Etterbeek) and chef Mathias Smet (formerly an architect who worked for Humus&Hortense) rock generous Australian-style breakfasts. This weekend, in the middle of a heavy drache downpour: two poached eggs resting on a beautiful homemade English muffin, under a duvet of siphoned Hollandaise sauce – with added smoked salmon, Brasvar bacon or seasonal veg; or a maxi slice of toasted sourdough topped with chunks of Malines chicken in a soy and lemon marinade, and some (not enough) kimchi mayo for a gentle kick; and a mini lemon polenta cake. During the week, the lunch menu doubles as brunch. // Alba Nebbioli

FEELING THIRSTY? Everything you need to wake up on the right side of bed: MOK coffee, filtered (€3.70) or from the Marzocco (espresso €2.60), black, jasmine or green teas from MIST (€5.50), invigorating homemade beet-based shrubs (€4.50) and Brussels beers (€4.50 to €12.50).

PRICE: Brunch €32, eggs €16.50 to €19, savory dishes €10-17, sweets €12-15, lunch €24-29.
