Gingham tablecloths, colorful string lights and a massive Argentine barbecue: this spot located along the highway ticks off all the boxes for the perfect guinguette outdoor dining spot! And for good reason: Jérôme Campanelli (the chef at Au Fil du Temps) set up shop there to grill Salers beef, pork from the Ventoux, veal picanha… And for all those who aren’t in the mood for meat, there are some lovely mussels with fries and homemade Béarnaise sauce, fried fish that isn’t greasy, an incredible pissaladière, potato salad and escargot in persillade, and even a crème caramel for dessert… enough to make your head spin! // A.A.
FEELING THIRSTY? A complex red Ventoux from the Domaine Fondrèche (€5 a glass), Solstice, a translucent Rhone rosé from the Domaine Viret (€22 the bottle…), unless you ask Zaza for some of the natural wines that aren’t featured on the wine list, like Naïa, a Languedoc red from the Domaine Inebriati or a Bourgueil from the Bretons (€40 and €35).
PRICE: Appetizers €6-12, grilled meats €16-24, desserts €7.
