Behind the somewhat pompous name lies a joyful restaurant run by a dozen or so individuals with disabilities in the kitchen, supported by very attentive front-of-house staff in a bright space with big windows. Beyond the humanistic value of this spot, where kindness reigns, chef François Vilbert (ex-La Mare aux Oiseaux and Pickles in Nantes) sends out seriously tasty bistro cooking that’s simple and to the point. For us the other day at lunch, that meant: a lovely smoked duck breast and a crisp haricot vert salad with the very first plums of the season; a tasty hake and spinach pressé doused in a generous amount of somewhat runny beurre blanc sauce, served with bok choy; before a hearty coconut rice pudding with a thick mango coulis and a sprinkling of homemade granola. // Meriadec Chouchen
FEELING THIRSTY? : Another point in their favor is the short drinks menu that’s affordable and often natural: a vibrant Mortin Gobin muscadet from Complémen’terre (€5.50 a glass), Supernova, an aromatic muscat from the Domaine Danjou-Banessy (€41 a bottle)… Unless you’d rather opt for an organic craft beer like Pilar from the Brasserie Vestibule (€5 for 330 ml) or a Breizh Cola (€3 for 330 ml).
PRICE: : Set menus €23-27, kids’ menu €12.
