A short bike ride away from the Machines de l’Île artistic project and tourist attraction, Esther Bouyssou and Benjamin Limouzin opened this urban dairy back in 2021, showcasing their cheeses made in the workshop that’s visible from the street. Everything is crafted with good, organic milk from cows raised on hay from Ghislain Maillard’s farm in Bouvron, some 40 minutes outside of Nantes: excellent mozzarella, ricotta and scamorza, outstanding crème fraîche, halloumi, labneh, fresh and aged cheeses, flavored yogurts (lemon verbena, black sesame, orange blossom) and creamy desserts (rice, coffee or Valrhona chocolate pudding, etc.). To go with it all, there’s organic honey and a few bottles of wine in case you’re feeling thirsty, like an Anjou pét nat produced by Céline and Benoît Blet. // Meriadec Chouchen
