The first Neapolitan pizzeria to make landfall in Nantes! Run by the pizza-obsessed Jérémy Dechoux – who named this place after his grandfather Vincenzo Caruso, you’ll find a big oven that heats up to 480°C, and spits out pies that are as dolled up as pin-up girls! The other day at lunch, seated in the dining room with timeworn furniture and bottle green walls or on the terrace of this pedestrian street, we nibbled on all of the following: a delicious ’Nduja pizza with mozzarella, organic tomatoes, ‘nduja sausage, red peppers and basil; a Filetto with ham from Paul Begein in the Vendée, mozzarella, Parmesan aged for 24 months, cherry tomatoes and arugula; a tasty pizza of the day made with a zucchini cream base, zucchini ribbons, mozzarella and toasted hazelnuts; before an excellent tiramisu made following his mamma’s secret recipe! And if Vincenzo is booked solid, walk five minutes further on until you reach Graziella, Jérémy’s newest pizzeria (named after his grandmother this time around), where you’ll also find a quattro formaggi calzone! // A.A.

FEELING THIRSTY? Organic beer from the Brasserie du Bouffay (€5 for 330 ml), refreshing homemade lemonade (€3.70), a biodynamic Saumur white from the Domaine de La Paleine or a Chinon from the Domaine Charles Pain (€5 a glass).
