Rue Saint-Paul is seeing double… and not just because of all the free-flowing limoncello! Martin Fonzé has duplicated his masterful pasta spot across from his restaurant Altro Maccheroni, where you’ll find similar Italian bistro vibes: muted blue tones, marbled surfaces, vintage tiling and molto amore! On this side of the strada, you’ll now find Altro Lato, a deli and fine foods shop, selling fresh pasta prepared on-site (fettuccine, maccheroni, conchiglie), homemade bottled sauces (veal ragù, tomato and basil, amatriciana, puttanesca, etc.), incredible breads (like the one made with Sicilian spelt wheat) prepared in collaboration with L’Arche de Pain, infused olive oils (garlic, pepper, sage, etc.), citrus from the southern part of the Boot, a whole range of honeys from Lazio (acacia, chestnut, orange blossom, etc.), charcuterie from various regions (mortadella from Bologna, coppa from Parma, finocchiona from Tuscany), a small selection of organic and natural wines… along with everything you need to cook up your very own carbonara pronto, from the guanciale to the pasta, and even some farm-fresh eggs. // Vincent Shogun
THE HIDDEN GEM: The aforementioned veal ragù (€18 for 500 g), so you can recreate Altro Maccheroni’s most beloved dish in a flash at home.
