For all those who enjoy buttering their toast with peanuts, the Belgian-New Zealand duo of Julien Gaucherot and Matt Samra have settled down with their nut butters just a stone’s throw from the Canal Saint-Martin – barely three years after opening their coffee shop by the same name in Belgium. The new Parisian iteration? A monochromatic space (peanut-toned, of course) where they deal out their famous jars (peanut butter, almond butter, etc.), pimped out java and a few vegan viennoiseries. The afternoon we went, we got a signature Buddy iced coffee (aka a blend of coffee, peanut butter and almond milk), along with an almond butter kouign amann that was a little dry on the outside, but delightfully runny on the inside. // Maria Mariaux
The hidden gem: The unbeatable homemade, palm-oil-free, organic peanut butter, for your morning hunger pangs or a little afternoon treat (€6.90 for a 260-g jar).
