Exposed stone walls, works by Inès van den Kieboom, ceramics by Gertrude Peeters… Welcome to the artiest bakery in Flanders, tucked away near the train station, just a stone’s throw from Place De Coninckplein. That’s where artisans Lina Nasser and Bob Dierckx whip up some truly delightful baked goods every day, like sourdough bread made with organic stone-ground flour from the Moulin d’Artemeer, along with steaming hot pain au chocolat and croissants, butter couque cookies, speculoos cookies, not to mention the bread pudding! It’s also worth noting that you can grab lunch there as well. // Kiko Zushi
The hidden gem: A sourdough tartine topped with butter and thick slices of matured cheese (€5).
