Behind the Little Red Door hides a dark bar hiding that never empties out. Since 2012, this pioneer of Parisian speakeasies has been distilling a muffled New York ambiance, with flickering candles, naked brick walls, velvet couches and an inspired drink list. On the new menu, there are eleven original recipes, each of which is illustrated by a different artist, and you’ve got to take a sip to know the ingredients. For example, the n°4 (€13) hides a successful, sparkling and tangy mix of Beefeater gin, açaï berries, St. Georges absinthe, bière blanche from the Brasserie Saint-Rieul and lemon. For an alcohol-free cocktail, ask one of the bartenders wearing aprons. During our visit, he suggested a mix of lemon, mint, celery and Perrier. The only problem: finding somewhere to sit in the very narrow space. // A.B.
