Bartenders Benjamin Chiche and Clément Faure, two defectors of the Andy Wahloo, are still prowling around the Mediterranean in their lovely Magniv (“marvel” in Hebrew), dressed up as a chic neo-riad by Kokumi Studio and Sordoni Indoors – white-washed walls, granito tables, waxed concrete floors… From inside the open kitchen, Kobi Villot-Malk (Tavline) sends out serious Middle Eastern-style tapas, like these impressive marinated chicken and za’atar cigars with a mango-tahini dipping sauce (€15). As for the cocktails, twelve different experiences are available à la carte including a Black Beauty with floral notes (sumac-infused gin, Cynar, Pedro Ximenez sherry, verjus, pistachio, rose lemonade, for €14) and an imprecise but refreshing Sababa (vodka, citron liqueur, lemon, pear-bergamot jam and ginger ale, for €14). What’s more, there’s a photogenic mini club underground with rough stone walls and low copper stools, where you’ll find a selection of the house’s cocktail creations and a live DJ. // Paul Hackett
