Freshly decorated by Dorothée Meilichzon, the small bar at the Hôtel Bachaumont is now adorned with some fancy new finery: a faceted alcove, low banquettes that feel similar to Berber benches and poufs with floral patterns. Best of all, this little nest for night owls is brought to life by a groovy funk-heavy playlist. Strapped into his apron behind the chic white veined marble bar, Hugo Simonet (who did a stint at Big Mamma) serves a selection of ten balanced creations (including two alcohol-free options), which include: a Set With Diamonds (€16) where you’ll find tequila infused with curry leaves, ginger, coconut milk and pickled yellow pepper; or an Iromuji (€14) that combines vodka, sakura blossom tea, grapefruit soda and lemon. And to go with all these libations, there are small, hearty plates: think red lentil dhal (€6) or a truffle croque monsieur sandwich (€9). // Paul Hackett
