Rue Montmartre just got wrapped! With surprisingly few vacant storefronts left, said street has scored a trendy little hotspot slinging wildly good durums! A delicious alternative to the standard late-night kebab when post-beer munchies strike near Porte Saint-Denis. And who do we have to thank? Victor Yasar (ex-Experimental Group) and Or Bitan in the kitchen (ex-Miznon, Dalia and Shouk), teamed up with Léon Desarmegnin, who proudly dish out durums and mezze from this Middle East eatery – to eat in or grab to go while roaming the Sentier neighborhood. That Saturday lunchtime, we took ours to go: homemade flatbread stuffed with lamb, a generous dollop of Greek yogurt sauce, fresh herbs, pickles, grilled onions and pomegranate; followed by the crowd-pleasing Veggie, packed with a trio of mushrooms (oyster, shiitake, portobello) marinated in baharat spice mix, plus fresh herbs, sumac red onions and tahini. And for a bit on the side? Delish braised corn ribs with urfa biber aioli, so good you’ll want to gnaw them down to the bone. And don’t skip the orange blossom muhallebi, guaranteed to hypnotize even the most stubborn sweet tooth. · Maria Mariaux
