A cobblestoned courtyard, a vertical garden and retro chic décor dreamt up by Humbert & Poyet: when it comes to thoroughly Instagrammable boutique hotels, The Hoxton is certainly making its presence felt. If you don’t believe us, just head over to Jacques’ Bar, the hotel’s cocktail lounge decked out like the Berber tearoom of an English lady, complete with orientalist paintings, velvet poufs and floral wallpaper. Lucky for us, the menu, with its eight creations crafted by the Quixotic team (Candeleria, Les Grands Verres…), is more than just a pretty sight! Sail dead south with the Tea Julep (rum, grappa, tea-infused syrup, peppermint, €13) or the very full-flavored Tikiztate (tequila, harissa-spiced pineapple juice, lime, ras el hanout, 13€). The obligatory gentleman bartender Mathieu Obringer (ex-Parfum in Montpellier) prepares excellent mocktails upon request as well (€8). // A.B.
