Not far from Les Halles Saint-Louis, the Soif de Vins wine shop is hard at work keeping the city of Brest hydrated! Especially since sommeliers Antoine Renou and Victor Le Roux (ex-Globulle Rouge), who took over the place in 2021, are never stingy with their good advice when it comes to their 450-bottle collection. On their shelves, you’ll find wines from the Loire (including classics from winemakers like Alexandre Bain, Emmanuel Haget, Lise and Bertrand Jousset), a lovely selection from Alsace (Pépin, a white blend from Achillée at €16.50), pet’ nat’ wines from all over the place (including Splash from the Château Barouillet in the Périgord for €15), along with extra-dry ciders (Coz Mezou Bull’O at €8.90) or even La Bêtise, an IPA from Skumenn in Rennes (€4.20 for 330 ml). And in response to your hunger pangs, there are Superbon truffle chips from Madrid (€3.10), sardine rillettes from La Chikolodenn (€5) and saucisson from Pontic (€7 each). // Marie Salmon
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Pipeño, a red vinified by Manuel Moraga from the Chilean winery Cacique Maravilla (€17.90).
