This wine shop & bar, uncorked by Antoine Retiere and Manon Le Corre, can be found within a former PMU sports betting bar, and has given a serious jolt to the Dalby neighborhood! The dapper duo hold regular events (concerts, art shows, karaoke nights, etc.) in the big back room with its bric-a-brac vibes, and pop open beautiful bottles of wine on the daily in the bar corner all decked out with concrete and blonde wood: Benoît Courault, François Saint-Lô or Marc Pesnot in the Loire, Romain Le Bars, Nicolas Renaud or the Soulier brothers in the Rhone Valley, Stéphane Morin or La Cave Apicole in the Roussillon… In short, 300 labels to choose from in total, which you can open up in house for a €6 corkage fee in addition to the bottle price. But the hard ciders from La Ferme de Port Coustic, the poirés from Jérôme Forget and the roughly one hundred beers on tap, sold by the bottle or can (brewed locally for the most part: Aerofab, Bubar, Tête Haute…) are also worth exploring! All of which is even better with a platter of artisan charcuterie and farm-fresh cheeses, or a plate of sardines. // François Lemarié
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Clafoutis, the first vintage from the Roussillon vineyard Davoche Wines – a short maceration of Grenache grapes, all subtlety and finesse (€26 in house).
