THE STORY: Named in homage to Hitchcock and one of his last films (Marine), Marion Leroy opened this B&B in a 16th-century timbered building located in old town Rennes. The British friendly décor (a Chesterfield couch, blue-green wallpaper, a floral bench) goes nicely with the original architectural elements: tomette tile floors, oak wood floors, a majestic staircase, stone fireplaces, etc. Rooms starting at €119 a night, with windows giving out onto the interior courtyard…
TOILETRIES: L:a Bruket shampoo, shower gel and bath salts.
INTERNET: Wifi (free)
BREAKFAST: Included with coffee or tea, viennoiseries, bread, freshly squeezed fruit juice, fresh fruit salad, and pancakes, crepes or homemade cake.
MINI-BAR: No, but there is a courtesy platter with an electric teapot, tea bags and coffee provided in each room. Plus, guests can help themselves to drinks from the fridge in the lounge, or make themselves a Nespresso coffee.
LITTLE LUXURY: Located on the ground floor, the pretty Blush boutique has a range of beauty products along with body treatments from Nominoë (a Breton brand!) starting at €45 for 30 minutes.
