THE STORY: Five months later than initially planned (you can blame Covid 2019), Choucou was finally able to open its doors! A few sashays away from the Opéra Garnier, past a luminous hall of mirrors, this hotel checks off all the boxes for contemporary cool: a terroir-rich food market (cheeses, charcuterie, seafood, etc.), yoga classes, an outdoor bar under a glass ceiling, DJ sets, stand-up, karaoke nights… And best of all, sixty cozy bedrooms designed by architect Michael Malapert (midnight blue walls, velvet cushions, ceramic tiles) for when it’s time to hit the hay. Not to mention the three suites tucked away on the top floor (La Vie en rose, L’Anamour, L’Arrache- cœur) that are filled with cheeky charms: old trunks and a gramophone in the first one; a piano and photos of Gainsbourg in the second; loads of jazz records and books in the third. Rooms starting at €130 a night; suites starting at €400 a night.

TOILETRIES: Prescription Lab shampoo and body wash.

INTERNET: Wifi.

BREAKFAST: Hot drinks, orange juice, bread, viennoiseries, butter, jam, cheeses, charcuterie…

LITTLE LUXURY: Getting pampered in the underground spa, with a Jacuzzi and sensorial showers.
