A few hundred bottles, what could be better? Jean-Baptiste Bayle, Thomas Bonnel and Giulian Maiuri, the trio behind Restaurant Mieux in the Notre-Dame-de-Lorette neighborhood, have enlisted the services of wine merchant Marc Lepra for their juicy annex location. In a space filled with crates and boxes of wine, the wine specialist has put together a gold mine of options showcasing mainland France, along with a few escapades east. There’s plenty to explore as you unearth a few little-known gems (Les Joues Roses, an Ardèche syrah produced by the Domaine des Bardes, €14.50; Laisse Pas Traîner Ton Pif, a skin-contact gewürztraminer from winemaker Delphine Castel, €25), or fall back on the classics that always go down easy, like a pineau d’Aunis from Le Clos du Tue Bœuf (€21), a jacquère from the Domaine des Ardoisières (€39), or Fork & Knives, a Czech pinot noir from Milan Nestarec (€27). In short, the perfect spot to grab a bottle on your way back home from the office. // Albin Nycta
THE BULLET-PROOF BOTTLE: Rot vom Grün, a pinot noir and pinot gris blend vinified in Rhenish Hesse by Christopher Barth (€25).
