THE STORY: In the summer of 2018, Bertrand Grébaut and Théophile Pourriat, who run the restaurants Septime and Clamato (on rue de Charonne in Paris), treated themselves to a little green paradise by buyingD’une île, a country hotel deep in the province of Le Perche. In this seventeenth-century hamlet, far from the rest of the world, there are eight bedrooms with minimalist, bohemian chic décor (white sheets, old stone walls, exposed wooden rafters, tomette tile floors, rustic bouquets of flowers), with furniture gathered from the regional antique markets. As a bonus: eight hectares of land (a vegetable patch, an orchard, a prairie and a forest) to explore, before collapsing into a hammock strung up between two apple trees! Children welcome. Rooms starting at €113 a night. Two-night minimum stay.

BREAKFAST:
LITTLE LUXURY: The ultra-locavore cuisine by Fanny Payre and Valentin Burteaux, who both trained on rue de Charonne…
